With all the hurtful and damaging actions in Porterville we’d like to come together in solidarity and support one another.

Just a few highlights of the evening will include key artists and speakers such as:

Rob Hodges






Rob is a world travelled cellist having played everywhere from Egypt to Indonesia. A previous instructor at Porterville College Rob is now a music instructor for Harmony Magnet Academy in Strathmore. 

Award-winning actor and Springville resident Skyler Cooper will be sharing her experience as a gender non conforming queer lesbian and her spiritual journey.

Skyler has just wrapped up her latest film Hero Mars which she wrote, directed, and produced. She’ll be presenting us with an amazing opportunity in the near future to view her film locally.

President from The Wall - Las Memorias and various member of the organization will be making the trip all the way up from Los Angeles to be with us on this evening.

The AIDS Monument is an acknowledged catalyst for change and action; and engage the LGBT and faith communities, making both entities full partners in promoting wellness and eliminating stigma among ALL people.

These are just a few highlights of the evening. There are many surprises in store. Come out and be a part of an evening that’s promised to provide

inspiration and a beginning toward healing some of the wounds we’ve sustained as we hear from these powerful people and many more from our community who stand with the Porterville LGBTQ community!


For your comfort please bring a lawn chair or a blanket with you.

If you have small votive candles to use during the vigil portion please feel free to bring them.

We also encourage you to express yourself by bringing signs and posters that share messages of love, hope, and acceptance.


The main event begins at 8:00PM but there will be many opportunities throughout the day to attend and support.
